Ryan Groves is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and data scientist. After working as a back-end software developer for both game companies and enterprise B2B services, he decided to change course and go back to school to study film composition. He was accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston to do just that, however was offered a unique opportunity at a musical game startup named Zya to instead combine his passion with his skill and immerse himself in the field of Music Technology.
Since 2009, Ryan has helped to build a suite of musical tools to serve the needs of Zya's users. He now leads the design and implementation of musical systems as the Director of Research and Development, taking the musical vision of Zya's leaders and translating that into an automatic cloud-based musical platform.
Ryan received his B.S. in Computer Science from UCLA with a minor in German, and is also completing a Master's Degree in Music Technology from McGill University with an emphasis on computational musicology and machine learning.
